Serious Accident in Novi: 11-Year-Old Boy Life-Flighted After Being Hit by Vehicle
NOVI, Mich. – A tragic incident unfolded on Friday afternoon when an 11-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. The accident occurred on Wixom Road, just south of Grand River, near Catholic Central High School.
According to reports, the young boy was attempting to cross the road with his 14-year-old friend when they violated a “do not walk” signal. Unfortunately, an 18-year-old driver did not see them in time, leading to the collision.
Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, where life-saving efforts were immediately initiated on the injured boy. He was stabilized and then transported first to Detroit Children’s Hospital of Michigan before being life-flighted to Mott Children’s Hospital for further treatment. At this moment, his condition remains unknown.
Fortunately, the 14-year-old boy escaped injury in the incident. The driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
All roads in the vicinity have since been reopened following a thorough investigation into the crash. The local community is hoping for a swift recovery for the young boy.
