Slick Thieves Swipe $20,000 Gold Jewelry Cache from Novi Pawn Shop
In the leafy city of Novi, a group of super slick thieves have pulled off a fast one on a local pawn shop, nabbing a huge cache of gold jewelry worth a cool $20,000! And guess what? They managed to pull off this audacious heist right under the noses of the store employees, and in broad daylight no less!
The pawnshop star of this unfortunate episode is “Gold Buy and Jewelry”, sitting unassumingly on Grand River. According to the shocked shop owner, “They were very well dressed, you’d never have imagined they were a group of thieves”. The plan was simple yet effective, the thieves had come in asking to check out items on the lower shelves.
It all went down around 3 PM, when an innocent looking duo sauntered into the shop, fully prepared to pull off their grand scheme. Little did the hardworking clerk know what they had cooking. They proceeded to engage the clerk, while cunningly blocking the employee’s view of the rest of the store.
Not long after, three more members of the cunning group slipped in, all this caught on the ever-vigilant eye of the security cameras. While the shop assistant was held in animated conversation, one sly individual made their move. A showcase was craftily slid open, and a full tray of sparkling diamond and gold rings discretely whisked away.
“They are good at what they do,” laments the shop owner. With skills as slick as theirs, this group was in and out of the store in a swift 10 minutes. And just like that, they were gone as quickly as they came, walking nonchalantly into the parking lot.
It was not until closing time that the staff realized the magnitude of their day’s loss. That empty tray meant a whopping $20,000 of diamond and gold rings were missing. “Oh my God, they took the tray,” the shocked shop owner recalls.
