Brace Yourselves, Michigan: ‘Meet Your Best Friend at the Shelter’ Returns!
On a sunny morning of September 14, a unique event is about to hit the town of Westland, Michigan. ‘Meet Your Best Friend at the Shelter,’ will be returning for its second year at the Berman Center for Animal Care (900 N. Newburgh Road in Westland).
The event, which starts at 10 am and finishes at 2 pm, aims to find forever homes for the numerous animals currently residing in local shelters. In partnership with the Mike Morse Law Firm, over 150 animals, including dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, will be in the spotlight and up for adoption.
Several organizations are joining together to make this event possible. Alongside Michigan Humane, folks from the Lincoln Park Animal Shelter, No Dogs Left Behind, Good Karma Puppy Rescue, and the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society will be present, each with their own selection of pets ready and eager for adoption.
For those looking to add a new furry family member to their homes, here are a couple of ground rules. First, leave your resident pets at home, this is a day to meet new possible pet friends. Second, do not forget to bring a valid, state-issued photo I.D. Remember, each organization has their own adoption requirements and the adoption fees may vary.
