This afternoon in Novi, tragedy struck when an 11-year-old boy was hit by a car while trying to cross the street. The incident occurred on Wixom Road, located south of Grand River, close to Catholic Central High School.
According to reports, the young boy and a 14-year-old friend ignored a “Do Not Walk” signal and stepped onto the road. Unfortunately, a vehicle struck the younger boy. The driver of the car stopped immediately and has been cooperating with investigators as they look into the situation.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and delivered the 11-year-old to Detroit Children’s Hospital of Michigan for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later airlifted to Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor for further care. Thankfully, the 14-year-old boy was not harmed during the incident.
As of now, police have not shared any updates regarding the condition of the younger boy. This is a developing story, and the community holds its breath for more information.
