Canton Unveils Plans for New Springs at Willow Creek Apartment Complex

Canton Welcomes New Apartment Complex: Springs at Willow Creek

CANTON — Exciting developments are happening in our city as early site work is underway for a new 280-unit apartment complex. This project is set to transform the vacant land located on the east side of Lotz Road, nestled between Ford and Cherry Hill roads.

Developed by Continental Properties, a well-known name in multi-family community development, the complex is officially named Springs at Willow Creek. The project will unfold over approximately 40 acres and will feature 14 two-story townhome buildings, each housing 20 apartments. Residents will have a variety of options to choose from, including studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. Each unit will offer private ground-level entrances and options for attached garages.

Monthly rent is expected to range from $1,440 to $2,600, making it accessible to a wide range of residents. Heather Riggs, a vice president at Continental Properties, highlighted that future residents will enjoy a resort-style living experience. The complex will include excellent amenities, such as a 24-hour fitness center, a modern clubhouse, and even two pet playgrounds.

Furthermore, the property will feature a gated entrance surrounded by decorative fencing to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Pre-leasing is set to begin in the summer of 2025, during which prospective residents can visit the property to explore various floor plans and finishes. The community is expected to begin welcoming its first move-ins by fall 2025 when the clubhouse and the first building are completed.

The road to this development has seen its share of planning. The Canton Township Planning Commission reviewed and approved the plans, which were finalized by the Township Board of Trustees in April. Interestingly, the land has been earmarked for residential development since it was rezoned in 2016. Previous plans for apartments and condominiums were generated but ultimately never materialized.

Erik Hahn, who is responsible for acquisitions at Continental Properties, emphasized the need for quality housing in the Detroit metro area. “As demand continues to rise, Springs at Willow Creek will meet that need by providing a welcoming community,” he stated. He further remarked on the importance of offering well-crafted living spaces with great access to local amenities, including nearby schools and retail options.

With the groundwork now laid in Canton, residents can look forward to a beautifully designed living community that promises to enhance the area.
