Big Construction Project Wraps Up In Wixom City

Heads up folks! This is for everyone out and about in Wixom City. A considerable construction project that had been rocking the cityscape has now completed. The pin in the city map, that’s right, the route on Grand River from Napier Road to Wixom Road has had some beefy changes.

This isn’t some minor band-aid patching work. We are talking about a whopping $5.4 million project here. Kicked off on the 1st of April it was no fool’s day prank. The project targeting the busy roads seems to have done justice by enhancing their safety and functionality.

What exactly has changed, you ask? A lot! It wasn’t a one trick pony. The works started with stripping off the old pavement and brand spanking new asphalt layer came in its place. But they didn’t stop there. The construction chaps decided to give a hand to the old drainage system and also paved parts of the road’s shoulder.

The coolest part? A continuous center left-turn lane right from Napier Road all the way to 12 Mile. That’s sure to ease your hearts and traffic. But the cherry on the cake is the updated pedestrian crosswalks, all designed to stand tall in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Traffic safety is now a game-changer for all the road users around.

Sure, the traffic signals at the intersections of Grand River and Napier Road, as well as at Grand River and 12 Mile, got their fair share of modernization to amp up safety and efficiency. Through this construction rollercoaster, traffic was never left stranded on Grand River. In fact, it was smoothly carried over to curtail troubles for commuters and residents.

Now don’t get all buckled up. There will be some more knick-knacks done to restore the grassy areas after the curb work. Sure, that might lead to a few hiccups with periodic lane closures. But hold your breath, these closures are planned smartly to have the least effect on the road yarn.
