Livonia, Mich. – A shocking incident unfolded over the weekend when a shooting at a local bar left two men injured, sparking a quick response from law enforcement. The accused, Kamari Dushawn Parham, 25, has been charged in connection with the altercation that took place late Saturday night at Snookers’ Pool & Pub.
It all went down in the early hours of November 3, around 1:20 a.m., when police received urgent reports of gunfire erupting at the popular hangout located at 27630 Schoolcraft Road. As officers arrived on the scene, they quickly found a 36-year-old man near the front door nursing a serious gunshot wound to his back.
But that wasn’t the end of the distressing news. Officers soon learned of a second victim, a 31-year-old man, found at a nearby Holiday Inn just moments later. This man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, raising alarms about the level of violence that had erupted earlier in the night.
According to investigators, both of the victims were embroiled in a heated altercation inside Snookers before the situation escalated dramatically. Reports indicate that during this scuffle, Parham allegedly pulled out a firearm and began firing. Witnesses were left stunned as chaos erupted, leading to the serious injuries of two men who were just out for a night of fun.
Law enforcement acted swiftly to apprehend Parham, who was located and arrested right at Snookers’. He now faces some serious charges including two counts of assault with intent to murder among other related charges. This certainly isn’t a small matter, and the legal repercussions could be severe.
After being charged, Parham had his initial court appearance where he was given a substantial $1 million bond. His preliminary examination is scheduled for November 14, and many in the community will be watching closely to see how this case unfolds.
Local residents were left astounded by the violence at a place many consider a neighborhood hotspot. “It’s pretty unsettling to think something like this could happen here. We come out to have a good time and not to be afraid for our safety,” said one local patron who frequents the bar.
While the situation has sparked worry about safety in local establishments, many community members are rallying together in support of the victims. Fundraisers and awareness efforts are already being discussed to ensure both men receive the care they need for their recovery.
This incident sheds light on the ongoing issues of gun violence that are plaguing communities across the nation. Many are now calling for greater safety measures in bars and public venues to prevent similar occurrences in the future. With conversations around pacifying altercations before they escalate, it seems clear that the city must take action.
As the community waits for the legal process to play out, all eyes are on the upcoming examination in a few weeks. Will justice be served? Stay tuned as more details emerge in the days ahead.
