Detroit Gears up for a Big Chicken Invasion Led by NBA Royalty

What’s up, Detroit! Get ready for some serious chicken love coming your way. Our beloved city just got spicier with NBA legend’s new culinary venture.

Big things are cooking in the former spot of a celebrity chef’s chicken joint over at 30130 Plymouth Road. The NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal is turning up the heat with his chicken chain, Big Chicken. The entire city is buzzing over this huge announcement. The location is planning to open sometime in October, according to sources.

Remember Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy? Well, after shutting down just after a year, the Big Chicken comes to rule the roost in the same spot. No other Chicken Guy restaurants exist in our metro area.

The popular chicken chain, famous for its signature fried chicken sandwiches, sides, and shakes, is ready to tantalize our taste buds. Imagine biting into the “Shaq Attack” – a fiery combo of fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, and spicy chipotle BBQ sauce. Drooling, aren’t you?

Another favorite is “The Ultimate“. This one’s got fried chicken, mac and cheese, crispy fried onions and roasted garlic BBQ aioli.

This Livonia location is just the starting point for the NBA legend’s food empire. According to reports, there are plans to open around 20 stores across Michigan. Michigan’s first Big Chicken opened earlier this year in Clio, and there’s another one at 10490 Highland Road in Hartland. So Detroit, are you ready to welcome the king of slam dunks and now, irresistible chicken too?
