Detroit Gears Up for the Seventh Annual Prom Dress Drive!

It’s that sparkling time of year again, Detroit! Comerica Bank is back with its seventh annual Prom Dress Drive, running from March 24 to April 18, 2025. This year, they’re partnering with Jackets for Jobs, a wonderful nonprofit based right here in the heart of Detroit, to make this year’s drive even more special!

Calling All Fashionistas!

If you’re one of those fabulous folks with a closet full of dresses just waiting for a second chance, this is your moment! Comerica is inviting everyone to donate their new or gently used prom dresses and elegant accessories. Whether it’s sparkly jewelry, fabulous shoes, chic purses, or cozy wraps, they’ll gladly accept it all! Donation centers are located at nine Comerica banking locations scattered across Metro Detroit, giving you plenty of opportunities to drop off your items.

A Worthy Cause

What’s the goal, you ask? The drive aims to support students in southeast Michigan by helping them feel confident and radiant on their big night. Last year was a smashing success, with generous community members donating over 2,600 dresses—an all-time record! It’s clear that Detroiters have the biggest hearts, and this event is proof. Over the past six years of running this drive, the total number of collected dresses has soared to more than 10,000!

Besides that glamorous dress you might donate, look out for the Jackets for Jobs Prom Dress Boutique, set to take place from April 25 to April 27, 2025, at the Samaritan Center in Detroit. This year marks the third time that Comerica has teamed up with Jackets for Jobs. As the nonprofit celebrates an impressive 25 years of service, its mission shines brightly: they focus on removing clothing-related barriers to help individuals develop their careers. So far, they’ve assisted over 35,000 job seekers by providing the essential attire needed to step confidently into the workforce.
