Dr Christopher Delgado Promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Oakland Schools Intermediate School District
FARMINGTON HILLS
– The superintendent of Farmington Public Schools, Dr. Christopher Delgado, has been promoted to the position of deputy superintendent for the Oakland Schools Intermediate School District. After serving FPS since 2021, Delgado’s new role was approved unanimously during a vote by the Oakland County School’s Board of Education on July 9.

Reflecting on his tenure at FPS, Delgado expressed his gratitude for the dedicated staff and their hard work in creating positive experiences for students and their families. He confidently stated, “It’s been an honor to serve the FPS community for the past three years… I am extremely grateful to the dedicated staff for their commitment to students and families, and am confident that under our supportive and innovative Board of Education, the future will remain bright in Farmington Public Schools.”
Gratitude and Positive Relationships Key to FPS Experience
Discussing Delgado’s time at FPS, the President of the FPS Board of Education, Terry Weems, commended him for bringing much-needed stability to the district. She noted Delgado’s knack for forming supportive relationships with students and his regular interactivity within the schools and student events. Weems said Delgado was also a consistent supporter of both student and adult groups. “We look forward to Dr. Delgado’s continued accomplishments as he supports K-12 districts across Oakland County,” Weems added.
Delgado will officially begin his new role as deputy superintendent in the fall of 2024. The Board of Education is set to meet shortly to discuss the process of filling the now vacant superintendent position.
