The local community of Salem Township, Michigan, breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday morning as news broke that the missing elderly citizen, Donald Roberts, was located safely.
Reports suggest that 82-year-old Donald Roberts was missing from his residence on Chubb Road since the early hours of Thursday. Roberts suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that threatened to complicate the search for him.
According to State police, Roberts was last spotted at his home around 2 a.m. and disappeared somewhere between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. He was said to have left in a Gray 2006 Chevy Malibu, bearing an Illinois plate.
In a quick turn of events, State police confirmed at 10:22 a.m. via social media that Roberts had been found and was safe. The news was met with a wave of relief from concerned community members and authorities alike.
Ever-vigilant local citizens and law enforcement officers worked relentlessly through those worrying hours, ensuring that Roberts, despite his vulnerable state, was found safely.
A much-needed reminder came out of this occurrence for all community members – to look out for our vulnerable elderly citizens and never hesitate in supporting local law enforcement officers in their endeavors to keep our community safe.
It’s important for everyone in our community to remain aware and helpful, just as they were during this incident, demonstrating the strong bond that exists within our community.
