Back by popular demand, the beloved LittleGuide Detroit is bringing back its FREE Stroller Roll event on Saturday, July 20th! Families are now marking their calendars and gearing up for a fun-filled day that promises adventure for everyone at no cost!
LittleGuide Detroit’s Stroller Roll events are all about fun and community rather than competition. No race, no formal walk, just a lot of merrymaking in fresh air! These events, held yearly, always see an impressive turnout at the beautiful Wayne County Park’s Nankin Mills Recreation Area along Hines Drive.
This year the festivities will take the level of FREE family fun a notch higher. LittleGuide Detroit’s first Stroller Roll of 2024 will be held at Wayne County Park’s Nankin Mills on Saturday, July 20th from 9am until 11am. During this time, a six-mile stretch of Hines Drive from Nankin Mills to Outer Drive is closed to vehicles, offering safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists.
Thanks to a collaboration with Wayne County Parks, this year’s participants will get to enjoy the county park’s annual Bugtopia event in the same location. This adds an array of fun activities such as inflatables, Spider-Man visit, and a bug safari to the already-exciting Stroller Roll line-up.
The family event will greet attendees with a stunning mix of activities, all FREE. The guests will get a chance to enjoy character visits from Fairytale Entertainment, free bike helmets from Gardner White, hands-on activities and interactive fun from a variety of vendors, and giveaways like Goldfish Swim School, Michigan State University Broad College EMBA program, National Heritage Academies, and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School.
To sweeten the deal, many Touch-A-Truck activities will be a part of the event involving a grand display of vehicles such as Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Panda One Ambulance, Wayne County Sheriff vehicle and Horses, and Westland Fire Department.
The area has a bounty of activities for everyone. Playgrounds, bike tracks and even fishing spots in close vicinity will keep attendees entertained. Free parking is available and pre-registration for the event is desirable.
Residents should consider calling their friends and family to plan a playdate. With numerous fun opportunities, photo ops with the event characters, and lots of exploration at the park, the Stroller Roll is the best opportunity to make the most out of the Summer weekend.
It’s a day to relax, to come together, and to enjoy the beauty of community and nature. Families are encouraged to turn off their screens for the day, step outside, and enjoy the amazing activities on offer.
