Shocking Shooting Incident in Farmington Hills

In a shocking turn of events, a 28-year-old man is slapped with an attempted murder charge in Farmington Hills, relating to a recent shooting incident. The suspect, identified as Sean McCombs, was reported to law enforcement following a shooting incident in the early hours of Saturday, July 27.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when they received a distress call concerning an individual attempting to breach his ex-girlfriend’s apartment by force. Things took a dark twist when the police were informed that the ex-boyfriend had shot the woman’s new partner and made his escape.

Later on, officers who were on their way to the cited location, around 12 Mile and Middlebelt roads, were able to pinpoint the vehicle and flag it down. McCombs was found with a loaded handgun on his person. Although he confessed to the charge of shooting the other individual, he reasoned that his actions were in self-defense.

From enquiries, it was gathered that McCombs, taking issue with his ex-girlfriend’s new relationship, decided to visit her residence in the middle of the night, with intentions to pick up their shared kids. The encounter rapidly spiraled into chaos when he allegedly picked a fight with the new partner and discharged his weapon four times, resulting in the latter being struck twice.

Luckily, the crushing news was tempered by the revelation that the victim, a 29-year-old man from Farmington Hills, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is anticipated to make a recovery.

Legal Proceedings

On Tuesday, July 30, McCombs was hit with hefty charges including:

  • Assault with intent to murder
  • Felony firearm
  • Malicious destruction of property
  • Driving with a suspended license

A bond amount of $250,000 cash or default-10% was specified. McCombs is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary examination on Aug. 7.
