Frankenmuth is Making Waves with its Latest Indoor Waterpark Expansion!

Families and fun-seekers, have you heard the news? The Frankenmuth Bavarian Blast Indoor Waterpark, the largest indoor waterpark in Michigan, has just opened its major expansion, and it’s making quite a splash! Officially opening on March 21, 2025, the park now boasts a whopping 125,000 square feet of water-filled joy and excitement, bringing a host of thrilling attractions for visitors of all ages.

What’s New in the Waterpark?

The new expansion, which cost over $80 million, promises to turn your average family getaway into an unforgettable adventure. With 16 brand-new water slides, an adult-only swim-up bar to relax with a drink, a lazy river for those chill lazy days, and a wave pool to catch some waves, it’s a true paradise for water lovers.

But that’s not all! Guests can now enjoy private cabanas for a bit of luxury, an activity pool for some friendly competition, a toddler area perfect for the littlest splashers, and even an indoor/outdoor hot tub to soak away the stress. For those looking to have some fun, there are nine basketball hoops for some playful shooting, a lily pad area for those daring enough to walk on water, and a “not-so-lazy river” for the more adventurous souls.

A Look Back at the Waterpark’s History

The Bavarian Inn Lodge first opened the waterpark back in 1986, and this is actually the seventh expansion since then! If we take a peek back, the last major expansion was in 1995, where they spent $14 million to add new guest rooms, an extra indoor pool, and even an 18-hole mini-golf course.

The Perfect Family Getaway

While the expansion has been highly anticipated to open by Christmas of 2024, unforeseen delays pushed back the soft launch, but it’s finally here! Opening to a limited number of day pass visitors in addtion to overnight hotel guests, everyone can finally dive into the fun! Day passes are priced at $80, with nice discounts for seniors and military personnel at $73.

Waterpark Hours and Accessibility

Waterpark enthusiasts can come and enjoy the facilities every day of the week—Sunday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.. The goal of the Bavarian Inn Lodge is to ensure that every family member has a blast, with activities that suit everyone, from toddlers to adults.

Dine and Stay at the Bavarian Inn

And don’t forget, after all that fun, you can refuel at the renowned restaurant within the lodge, known for its authentic German cuisine. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., extending to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. This means you can savor those delicious meals after a day full of splashes and slides!

Looking Ahead

The Bavarian Blast Waterpark is set for its grand official opening in April 2025, but the soft launch is already generating excitement. With over 20 million guests having visited the Bavarian Inn since it opened in 1888, it’s clear that Frankenmuth is a beloved destination for both locals and travelers. So, if you’re looking for the ultimate waterpark experience, look no further than Frankenmuth’s very own Bavarian Blast!

Don’t wait too long though—be sure to book your stay, snag those waterpark passes or even plan an event through the Inn’s website. Dive into the fun and make some memorable splashes in the largest indoor waterpark in Michigan!
