Get ready, Clinton Township! The holiday extravaganza you’ve all been waiting for is just around the corner. On Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church will transform into a vibrant hub of comics, cosplay, and community spirit as it plays host to the Great Lakes Comics Expo.
In the spirit of giving this holiday season, expo organizer Mike DeSantis is encouraging attendees to donate new and unopened toys as part of a fantastic Toys for Tots drive. This is a meaningful initiative that DeSantis has championed for an incredible eight years! Not only does your donation make a big difference in the lives of children, but it also gets you in on the fun. Each toy that you donate enters you into a raffle that boasts some amazing prizes, taking place at 2:45 p.m. Just think—donate five toys and you’ll get five chances to win!
What’s more exciting than dressing up as your favorite character? How about meeting a gang of cosplayers from the beloved Ghostbusters franchise? Ghostbusters Detroit, a nonprofit organization filled with fans just like you, will be there to host the raffle and add some supernatural flair to the event. Who you gonna call when you want a chance to win epic comic prizes?
The prizes up for grabs in the raffle are nothing short of incredible! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the highlights:
That’s not all! The excitement kicks off early with the first raffle happening at 10:45 a.m. featuring the first full appearance of the villain Carnage from Marvel’s “Amazing Spider-Man” Vol. 1 No. 361. Raffles continue throughout the day at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m., so be sure to stick around for your chance to win!
Admission is affordable and family-friendly, with tickets priced at $5 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a $3 entry fee for the rest of the day. And for families bringing kids, those ages 10 and under get in absolutely free! Plus, there’s no need to worry about parking—the church offers free parking!
If you have any questions or need further details, be sure to visit the official expo website: greatlakescomicexpo.com/holiday.html. Mark your calendars and get those toys ready—this is one event you won’t want to miss!
Bring your family, friends, and a whole lot of cheer as we celebrate comics, community, and the spirit of giving at the Great Lakes Comics Expo this December!
