Human Remains Found on Warner Property, Family Believes It’s That of Missing Woman Dee Warner

In a shocking revelation, human remains were found on the Warner property located in Adrian, Michigan, on August 16, 2024. Family members strongly believe the remains could belong to Dee Ann Warner, a Lenawee County woman who mysteriously disappeared in 2021.

Discovery of Human Remains

The discovery was made during the execution of a search warrant by the Michigan State Police on one of the Warner properties. Despite the finding, the police are yet to confirm the identity of the remains due to the necessity of further testing for positive identification. The autopsy is set to be conducted on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Details of the Discovery

The human remains were found inside a sealed tank designed for anhydrous ammonia storage, a chemical used in fertilizers for crops. Notably, the tank, marked with a tag reading “do not use,” was empty of chemicals when the discovery was made. Upon seeing an X-ray of the tank containing a body, Gregg Hardy, Dee’s brother, expressed disbelief. Surprisingly, the tank had come under Hardy’s notice shortly after his sister’s disappearance, leading to its later discovery.

Accusation of Dale Warner’s Involvement in Dee’s Disappearance

Dale Warner, Dee’s husband, is already facing a murder charge in connection to her disappearance. The case has been ongoing in the court since November 2023, with a trial set for the following month. Dale Warner maintains his innocence and has entered a not guilty plea. Families of the missing woman suspect Dale could have been the sole person with access to the sealed tank where the remains were found.

Background of Dee Warner’s Disappearance

Dee was last observed on April 24, 2021, at her house in Franklin Township, Tecumseh, Michigan. She was reported missing the next day. Legal documents procure by local authorities suggest that Dee was planning to ask for a divorce from her husband, Dale, the night before she disappeared. The disappearance led to lengthy court proceedings, following which she was declared legally dead in 2024.

Continued Search

Authorities have searched over 4,000 acres of land in the missing person case that has spanned over three years. The location of the Warner properties was also a key focus, with multiple searches involving excavators, K-9s, drones, and other advanced technology. The finding of the human remains brought about a mix of relief and anguish for Dee’s loved ones. While it offered a semblance of closure, it equally evoked feelings of grief and loss. Nevertheless, the family is determined to seek justice for Dee.

Community Remembers Dee

Known for her generous, confident, and fearless disposition, Dee Warner remains fondly remembered by her friends and family. Her son recalls her as a caring mother who would do anything for her children. Her brother described her as a social butterfly who tried to befriend everyone.

Legal Proceedings Continue

While Dale Warner’s trial continues, the authorities and the legal community await the final identification of the human remains. The discovery is hoped to provide a crucial piece of evidence that may finally bring closure to the disappearance of Dee Warner and deliver justice to her grieving family.
