Based in Novi, ITC Holdings plays an essential role in maintaining the electrical grid for several central states in the United States. Electricity generated from diverse sources like wind, solar, nuclear, water and natural gas is transmitted across state lines via a comprehensive network of high-voltage power lines. This electricity is then passed on to utilities like DTE and Consumers Energy who distribute it to the end-users.

Looking after such widespread operations involving an annual revenue of over 1.6 billion dollars requires a great deal of vigilance for potential grid failures. Therefore, the organization makes a lot of provisions for physical and cybersecurity. It undergoes security drills several times a year to simulate ransomware attacks, while regular background checks are conducted for the staff.
