In Livonia, a scary episode of road rage led to a brief shutdown of some parts of a major highway. The incident took place on I-96 Eastbound on a late Friday night, near Middle Belt Road. The highway had to be cleared so the authorities could conduct their investigation.
Traffic was momentarily redirected, leaving the freeway at the Middle Belt exit and then rejoining on Eastbound Schoolcraft. As the motorway was closed for a bit, drivers were asked to take a minor detour and were able to rejoin the highway at Inkster.
Two shots were let off on the highway during the incident. Remarkably, no injuries were reported, keeping the seriousness of the situation in check. Despite the potential dangerous nature of the incident, it was a relief that no one was harmed.
By 10:15 that night, Livonia police had good news. The closure on I-96 was lifted, and the regular flow of traffic was allowed to resume. This meant that the authorities had concluded their preliminary investigations and deemed the highway safe for motorists once again.
Local law enforcement is still working on the case, with more details expected to be provided as the investigation progresses. Meanwhile, motorists and residents are urged to remain calm and follow all safety advisories while the inquiry is ongoing.
