Mill Race Historical Village is a living museum in Northville, Michigan that preserves the history and architecture of the 19th century. Established in 1972 by the Northville Historical Society, the village features a collection of restored and replica buildings from Northville’s early days, including an inn, blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, church, general store, and more.
The village was created on property donated to the city by the Ford Motor Company. Many of the buildings were moved to the site from other locations in Northville to save them from demolition and preserve them for future generations. The first structure moved to Mill Race was the New School Presbyterian Church, built in 1845.
