Metro Detroit Embraces Pickleball with Two More State-of-the-art Complexes

The growing popularity of pickleball, known as America’s fastest growing sport, has resulted in the construction of two more high-quality complexes in Metro Detroit. These developments follow the successful grand opening of the Bash Pickleball Club – the region’s first pickleball-only complex – in Warren, back in April.

PickleRage Launches in West Bloomfield

West Bloomfield is set to welcome PickleRage, a renowned indoor pickleball club franchise, on August 3. The new facility, which spans almost 27,000 square feet, features nine professional-grade courts at its 7290 Orchard Lake Rd location. The court is well-lit and temperature- and humidity-controlled, ensuring optimal playing conditions. PickleRage is set to offer a dynamic environment for enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The grand opening is an excellent chance for everyone to see what this thriving franchise has to offer.

PickleRage boasts a players lounge, free balls, paddle loans, and beer and wine bars. It also allows players to video record and live stream matches. The franchise plans to open an additional 500 locations nationally within the next five years.

Northville Welcomes the Largest Pickleball Complex in the State

The Northville Pickleball Club, designed to contain 16 state-of-the-art, climate-controlled courts on the campus of Ward Church at Six Mile, is projected to be the largest pickleball complex in Michigan. The facility, boasting a colossal 50,000 feet of playing space, will commence construction this summer and is expected to open in 2025.

The Northville Pickleball Club will offer court rentals, leagues, and skill-level sessions daily. In addition, the facility will house a pro shop, locker rooms, a cafe, and meeting rooms for parties and gatherings. It represents an opportunity to bring world-class facilities for pickleball players in the community.

Ward Church collaborated with private investors to build the facility. One of the investors, Christy Howden, is the co-owner and CEO of Wolverine Pickleball, a well-liked complex with 12 indoor courts and beer on tap, located in Ann Arbor.

Local residents and pickleball enthusiasts of all levels and ages will soon have a world-class facility to call home, thanks to this venture. The efforts and research of all involved promise to deliver one of the finest pickleball experiences in the country.

Where can you play Pickleball in Metro Detroit?

Metro Detroit offers both indoor and outdoor courts for pickleball enthusiasts to enjoy the sport. Following the success of Bash Pickleball Club, it is clear that PickleRage and the Northville Pickleball Club will play a significant role in meeting Metro Detroit’s growing demand for pickleball facilities. The new developments solidify Metro Detroit’s status as a sporting hub, embracing the nation’s fastest-growing sport in style.
