Michigan’s First Graber Showroom Now Open in Novi
Residents of Novi, Michigan, are now privy to an innovative way of shopping for window treatments thanks to the opening of Graber’s design studio and showroom – the first in the state. Not your ordinary storefront, the Detroit Design Studio gives customers the opportunity to see, feel, and interact with Graber’s diverse range of blinds, shades, and drapes.
The branch, which is one of five showrooms in the country, is run by Clear Fortress Window Solutions, a family business recognized for their customizable window solutions. Along with providing an in-store experience, the company also offers a unique “shop at home” option, with their design experts attending homes across Lansing, Midland, Toledo, and Perrysburg.
Setting the showroom apart is the incorporation of cutting-edge technology. Visitors can make use of a touchscreen device to upload photos of their home and drag-and-drop their chosen window treatment onto the image, visualizing how it may look once installed.
Current Design Trends
The Detroit Design Studio is a hub for modern design, with products combining classical functionality and recent trends. According to Clear Fortress CEO Andrew Blanchard, the past couple of years have seen a shift towards home décor that is customizable and original. Popular choices include earth-toned gray walls with white or black trim and silver or nickel fixtures – blends flexible enough to adapt to the homeowner’s evolving preferences.
Instead of elaborate decoration, people are now leaning towards a cleaner, simpler aesthetic, leveraging this base to experiment with colors, textures, and patterns. The trend even extends to window treatments, where colored or patterned drapes can serve as accent pieces, injecting vibrancy without overwhelming the space.
Emphasis on Safety and Technology
With safety regulations requiring window covering cords to be less than eight inches, all products at the Studio are cordless. Numerous options are available, spanning from sheer shades to zebra shades and plantation shutters, each with its unique way of regulating sunlight.
Additionally, the store showcases the latest in home automation. From lighting and temperature to entertainment systems, technology is increasingly being used to facilitate domestic tasks. The studio features Graber’s motorized blinds, which can be operated via a button, phone tap, or even a voice command to Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
Whether it’s for a home makeover or new construction, the Detroit Design Studio is sure to provide homeowners with a captivating new way to shop for window treatments.
