Missing Canton Man with Special Needs Found Safe After Community Search
In Canton, an 18-year-old man with special needs who had been reported missing was located safely by police on Monday. Jammie Bell Jr. had been the focus of a search after he went missing late last week.
According to law enforcement, they were able to find him along Ford Road in Garden City. Officers expressed gratitude towards the community for their involvement and attention to the case, stating, “The Canton Township Police Department appreciates the public’s attention to this matter.”
Jammie was last seen on Friday when he left his home near the intersection of Warren and Canton Center roads. At the time, he had been seen walking east on foot while carrying a suitcase. There were concerns that he might have been attempting to walk to Detroit.
Fortunately, he has now been returned to his family, and officials are relieved that the situation has ended positively. The community’s support during the search was evident and helped bring attention to Jammie’s safe return.
