A new Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is set to open on the Schoolcraft College campus by late 2025, following a recent groundbreaking ceremony. Spanning 48,100 square feet, this marketplace will provide gourmet goods, educational opportunities, and enhance community engagement in the Haggerty Road corridor. With a prime location and focus on real-world experience for students, it promises to become a bustling hub for both residents and visitors.
Get ready, Livonia! A new Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is set to make its home on the campus of Schoolcraft College by late 2025. This is fantastic news for both residents and students alike, as a groundbreaking ceremony held recently on November 7 officially kicked off construction.
The upcoming marketplace will find its place in the north commuter lot adjacent to the Vistatech Center on Haggerty Road. With such a prime location, it is sure to be a hub of activity and a convenient spot for students and the surrounding community to shop.
For those who are unfamiliar with Nino Salvaggio’s, it is an established name in gourmet grocery shopping with several other locations already thriving in Bloomfield Township, Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores, and Troy. The Livonia marketplace promises to offer a dazzling variety of gourmet goods, including fresh produce, high-quality meats, delectable baked goods, beautiful flowers, and so much more. It will be a one-stop shop for those who enjoy the finer things in life!
This new marketplace is not just a shopping venue; it is poised to become an educational hub for students at Schoolcraft College, particularly for those enrolled in programs like culinary arts and supply chain management. The hands-on learning opportunities available at the marketplace will provide students with real-world experiences that can enhance their education and career prospects greatly.
The marketplace will encompass an impressive 48,100 square feet of retail space, offering ample room for all the goodies one could desire. To support the influx of visitors, a new parking lot right next to the Vistatech Center is expected to be completed by December, making access to the marketplace even better.
Nino Salvaggio’s began its journey back in 1979, founded by the late Nino Salvaggio. Today, the legacy continues under the leadership of his children, Leo Salvaggio and Andrea and Frank Nicolella. The family is excited to invest in the Livonia community and looks forward to bringing this new marketplace to life for the students and residents in the area.
The foundation for this exciting venture was established back in March 2019, when a non-binding memorandum of understanding was signed. This agreement opened the door for exploring the possibility of setting up a store at Schoolcraft College, showcasing a commitment to offer valuable educational opportunities through the marketplace.
The arrival of Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is not just beneficial for shoppers and students; it has the potential to significantly enhance the Haggerty Road corridor as a bustling business hub. More foot traffic and community engagement will surely breathe new life into the area.
As we look forward to the grand opening in late 2025, it’s clear that the Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace at Schoolcraft College is set to become a thriving center of commerce and education. Keep an eye on this space for updates as construction progresses, and get ready to enjoy all the gourmet delights this fantastic marketplace will bring to Livonia!
