A New Sweet Spot is Coming to Northville

Good news, doughnut lovers! Northville is gearing up for a flavorful treat with a brand new shop, Peace, Love and Little Donuts, set to open its doors later this year.

The vibrant, retro-themed doughnut shop is aiming to welcome the community in November at its location on 345 E. Cady St., the former home of Mithai and Chai. If you are wondering what’s special about this place, then hold onto your seat because it’s all about their exceptional mini doughnuts!

Peace, Love and Little Donuts offers an extensive menu with classic flavors and innovative creations. Their offerings include fan favorites like the delightfully cinnamon sugar-coated “Groovy”, chocolate-glazed “Far-Out”, and a daring maple bacon “Funkadelic” donut topped with crispy bacon.

Feeling a little adventurous? There are other mouthwatering flavors such as salted caramel macchiato, strawberry shortcake, s’mores, Boston cream pie, and their uniquely named raspberry truffle, magically delicious, sprinkles and chocolate peanut nutter, just to tease your palate.

What makes this place even more exciting is the story behind it. The owners, a local Northville couple, first discovered the franchise during a family vacation. The kids fell so much in love with the mini doughnuts that they wanted them for their graduation parties. Following the enthusiastic response from guests, the family decided it was time Northville got its own branch.

The fun part doesn’t just stop at delicious doughnuts. The shop promises an interactive experience, where customers get a chance to watch their doughnuts being made – a kind of “food theatre.” Fresh doughnuts will be available throughout the day with samples on hand for customers to try.

Moreover, our friends with dietary restrictions need not worry. Peace, Love and Little Donuts plans to have gluten-friendly and vegan options available depending on demand. And to quench your thirst, they’ll offer a variety of coffee drinks and fresh-squeezed orange juice.

As newcomers to the downtown Northville business community, the owners are excited about their venture. They believe their doughnut shop will complement the downtown scene, especially with the impending expansion of the (Northville) Downs project.

This lovely little shop originated from Pittsburgh in 2009, and since its franchising in 2016, it has made its presence known in 11 states, including Michigan, with shops in Ann Arbor, Traverse City and Portage. Another branch is soon to follow in Rochester Hills.

While the exact opening date is yet to be confirmed, with interior work, permitting and other formalities still to be finalized, peace, love, and a whole lot of doughnuts are definitely on their way to Northville. Stay tuned for updates.
