Northville Township Mourns the Sudden Passing of Trustee Scott Frush at Age 53

Northville, Michigan, is in a state of mourning following the unexpected death of Scott Paul Frush, who passed away on January 11, 2025. Frush, who was just 53 years old, left behind a grieving community that will miss his dedication and warmth.

Born in Southfield on January 19, 1971, Scott was the cherished son of Michael and Nancy. He grew up in a loving family with three brothers—Michael, Todd, and Jason—who will remember him fondly. He was the beloved husband of Christina Fallone for an impressive 19 years and a devoted father to their two children, Gabriella and Ryan. His family was always his top priority, and he nurtured a strong bond with his siblings and his in-laws, including his proud roles as a brother-in-law and doting uncle.

A Life of Achievement

Scott was accomplished in many areas of life. After graduating from St. Agatha High School, he went on to earn degrees from Eastern Michigan University, the prestigious University of Notre Dame where he obtained his MBA, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Florida. His educational background paved the way for a successful career as an investment advisor and author, with several financial books published by McGraw-Hill to his name.

In 2019, Scott took an active role in serving the community when he was elected as a trustee for Northville Township. He stood out for his commitment to improving the financial health of the township, achieving an impressive AAA bond rating during his tenure. His efforts also resulted in reduced water rates, which significantly benefited local residents. Frush was recently reelected in the latest fall elections and had been serving as the deputy treasurer since 2021, showcasing his continuous dedication to public service.

Community Commitment

Scott’s passion for financial management was only matched by his love for community enhancements. He was a firm believer in preserving local parks and broadening recreational opportunities, goals he championed vigorously during his election campaign. Just before his passing, he was even appointed to the Washtenaw County materials management planning committee, further demonstrating his commitment to making Northville a better place for everyone.

Outside of his political role, he was an active participant in community life, attending Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in nearby Plymouth and serving on the Northville Township Parks and Recreation Commission. His community presence was felt by many, and he made a lasting impression on those who knew him.

A Community in Grief

As news of Scott’s passing spread, flags across Northville Township were lowered to half-staff in remembrance of his contributions and dedication. The community is coming together during this difficult time to honor his memory.

Visitation for Scott is scheduled for January 16, 2025, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia, where the community will have the chance to pay their respects from 2 PM to 8 PM. This will include a heartfelt eulogy service at 7 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held the next day, January 17, at 10:30 AM (with in-state at 10 AM) at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, allowing the community to come together one last time to celebrate Scott’s life. A private burial will take place afterward at Glen Eden Cemetery.

Scott Frush may have left this world, but his legacy of dedication, love for his family, and commitment to community service will surely live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
