Northville edged out Mercy in the first set 28-26, only to see Mercy bounce back in the second set with a 25-22 win. The third set was another close call, with Mercy taking it 25-23. Northville was not ready to back down, and they fought back to win the fourth set 25-22, leading to a heart-stopping deciding fifth set.

As the decisive set began, Mercy got off to a strong start, quickly taking a 4-0 lead. That momentum continued as they maintained a 12-8 advantage, putting Northville in a tough spot. However, the Mustangs weren’t going to let that discourage them. In a remarkable comeback, they scored five consecutive points, flipping the pressure back onto Mercy.

Among the standout performers was senior Mallory Reck, who delivered an impressive 22 kills, earning pivotal points that drove her team forward. Her sister, Molly Reck, contributed significantly as well with 17 kills, and Kaylyn Tuck made her mark with 12 kills. The Mustangs’ senior setter, Ella Craggs, was a crucial part of the action, racking up an astonishing 54 assists, setting her teammates up for success.
