Hey Novi! Get ready to revamp your garden this fall with the Novi Perennial Exchange happening on Saturday, September 21st from 9-11am at the beautiful Fuerst Park. It’s an awesome event where green thumbs come in clutch as folks get to exchange labeled perennial plants with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
But that’s not all! The event has partnered with Oakland County Parks and they will be generously offering native plant kit giveaways. So, even if your garden is already popping, you might just find a new plant baby to take home and nurture.
Adding an extra sprinkle of eco-friendliness to the event, the Novi Beautification Commission has invited Novi Fire Captain and Beekeeper, Mark Theisen, to share some wisdom about supporting pollinators in your garden. This is immensely important as these little guys play a crucial role in our ecosystem, pollinating over 80% of all flowering plants.
This is not just an exchange, it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute positively to our environment while making our gardens more beautiful and diverse. So, let’s grab our labeled perennials and get ready to swap, learn, and have a great time!
Please remember to pre-register. You can CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP. Happy gardening!
Looking for another good cause? Don’t forget the event in Pontiac on the same day where you can make blankets to donate at the Fleece & Thank You event. Or if arts and crafts are more your thing, check out the Madison Heights Arts Boards as they’re seeking vendors for the Trail Tunes Event also happening on Sept 21. Upcoming events also include interesting candidate interviews for various county posts. Let’s connect, engage, and give back to our community!
