Metro Detroit Embraces Pickleball with Two More State-of-the-Art Complexes

Pickleball: America’s Fastest-Growing Sport

Pickleball is fast taking the sports community by storm and the trend is catching on in Metro Detroit. Following the successful establishment of Bash Pickleball Club in Warren, which took place in April, two more top-tier pickleball complexes have been planned for Metro Detroit. This is not just a minor development; it is a clear indication of the growing popularity of the sport in the area.

PickleRage: Indoor Enthusiasm

PickleRage, an indoor pickleball club franchise, will be doing its grand opening for its West Bloomfield facility on Aug. 3 this year. This facility boasts an impressive 27,000 square foot building that will encompass nine professional-grade courts at 7290 Orchard Lake Rd. To enhance players’ comfort, the building has brilliant lighting and a stable internal climate with well-regulated temperature and humidity.

David Smith, the COO of PickleRage, is excited about the unveiling of this new facility. He stated that their aim is to provide a unique dynamic environment for individuals of varying age and skill levels. The grand opening shall be a perfect event for everyone to experience what PickleRage has on offer.

Enjoy 365 Days of Pickleball at PickleRage

PickleRage will be open all year round, and will feature a players lounge, beer, and wine bars. Additionally, players will be accorded free balls, as well as paddle loans. Additionally, players will have an opportunity to video record their matches and live stream the action. The club has an ambitious plan to open an additional 500 locations over the next five years.

Northville Pickleball Club: An Architectural Gem

On the other hand, the Northville Pickleball Club, planned to be ushered in this summer, will take the place as the largest complex of its kind in the state with its 16 state-of-the-art, climate-controlled courts, to be housed at Ward Church, at the crossroads of Six Mile and Haggerty. The 50,000-square-foot facility will open its doors in 2025.

The club will also be open daily, and players will enjoy playing their matches, taking part in skill-level sessions, and renting courts. In addition, there will be a pro shop for pickleball attire and equipment, locker rooms for players, a cafe, and meeting rooms for group gatherings and parties.

A Growing Trend

After the opening of the first pickleball-only complex in Metro Detroit, Bash Pickleball Club, in Warren earlier in April, the facility has already gained massive popularity, as evidenced by regular full-house drop-in events. The complex has 10 professional-grade courts under bright lighting.

All these developments show that Pickleball is not just a passing fad in Metro Detroit. It’s a welcomed trend and provides evidence of the city’s willingness to embrace this fast-growing sport.
