PLYMOUTH TWP. — Exciting changes are happening in the area, as construction has kicked off for new townhomes at the former Wycoff Steel and Elks Lodge site, located near Haggerty and Ann Arbor roads. Developers are providing a preview of what to expect with these much-discussed townhomes.
Toll Brothers has announced that they will start selling The Towns at Plymouth Walk “luxury townhomes” in early 2025. Each home will have around 1,800 square feet of living space, featuring an open-concept floor plan with three bedrooms and a two-car garage. Buyers will have various options to personalize their homes, making it a perfect fit for many lifestyles.
Homebuyers can choose between two different designs, both of which include loft spaces, laundry rooms conveniently located on the same floor as the bedrooms, and full basements with the option to finish them later. Prices are expected to start in the mid-$500,000s, which developers say reflects great value for area homebuyers.
The new development, situated at 41700 Ann Arbor Road, is part of a larger project that will include 369 units of both apartments and townhouses. Nicolas Peraino of Pomeroy Living is partnering with Toll Brothers on this venture. Outgoing Plymouth Township Supervisor Kurt Heise shared that the development will be organized into two main sections, separated by a central road running through the area. He mentioned, “Everything to the east of the spine road will be the town homes, everything to the west will be the apartments,” although some townhomes may still be built on the west side.
Currently, the road through the site has been completed, and construction crews are busy digging basements for the townhomes. At this point, a temporary prefab building is the only structure erected, and a temporary privacy fence is in place to shield the neighboring area to the east.
To lessen the impact on the surrounding neighborhood to the north, the developer has committed to contributing $1.6 million for a paving project that will enhance access for about 45 homes in one of the township’s few remaining dirt-road neighborhoods. Preliminary work on this project is expected to start soon.
Residents moving into the new townhomes can look forward to a simplified lifestyle, as the community will include services like landscaping maintenance and snow removal. Isaac Boyd, division president at Toll Brothers in Michigan, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “Our new community, The Towns at Plymouth Walk, represents an exceptional opportunity for home buyers seeking a luxury lifestyle close to every convenience in one of Plymouth’s most desirable locations.”
