Diverse deli menu display.

West Bloomfield, MI- The pursuit of discovering every culinary hotspot in Oakland County has taken us to Stage Deli, a hidden culinary gem in West Bloomfield.

Walking in to pick up our carryout order, we were inundated by a sea of tempting dishes on their impressively diverse menu. The array of dishes we indulged in ranged from delectably healthy options to decadent comfort foods.

Picking menu highlights was a tough task, but the brick chicken easily topped the list. Perfectly seasoned and flawlessly grilled, the poultry platter was a culinary delight. Paired with creamed spinach, roasted cauliflower, and a dinner salad soaked in bleu cheese dressing made it an instant favorite and a potential go-to meal.

From the comfort food corner, the Swankee Frankee was a bacon-wrapped, cheese-stuffed gem of a hotdog. Grilled to a point where the meat caramelizes and the grease beautifully seeps into the bun with every bite. An accompanying side of sauce-drenched baked beans and a crunchy deli pickle made this meal an indulgent slice of food heaven.

Moving back to the healthier side, the Stage Deli’s highly customizable salads are definitely worth a mention. The Custom Beltaire Salad, brimming with crispy bacon bits, feta cheese, burnt onion, green pepper, and a hard boiled egg was the ultimate healthy treat, served with a tangy lemon pepper vinaigrette.

The traditional Jewish street food, Knish, was a sizeable meatball marvel wrapped in inviting golden dough. The delightful Pistachio Halva, made with tahini sesame paste, pistachios, and powdered sugar, was for the dessert lover in every one of us.

On the downside, they had run out of Kasha Varnishkas. However, on the bright side, that gives us a reason to return to sate our rising curiosity.

Sampling other unexplored items from their menu, like the triple decker Dinty Moore sandwich, the “off the bone” turkey breast, the smoked fish plates, and more, is now on our dining bucket list.

The Stage Deli with its roots dating back to 1962 in Oak Park, continues to serve authentic Jewish deli experience. Currently nestled at 6873 Orchard Lake Road, this deli’s legacy is being perpetuated by the next generation.

To experience the culinary marvels of Stage Deli, you can check out their menu and place your order online.
