New Donut Shop to Add Sweet Touch to Downtown Northville

In the charming downtown area of Northville, a new doughnut shop, known as Peace, Love and Little Donuts, is gearing up to open its doors. The sweet and colorful store, set to open in November, is nestled snugly in the former location of Mithai and Chai at 345 E. Cady St.

Peace, Love and Little Donuts stands out for its unique, mini doughnuts. These quaint, sweet treats sway from the standard with a wide range of flavors, spanning from timeless classics to innovative and imaginative creations. The menu highlights the cinnamon sugar “Groovy,” the chocolate-glazed “Far-Out,” and the maple bacon “Funkadelic,” adorned with crispy bacon bits.

Kathy Isgro, a native of Northville Township, along with her husband Frank, are the proud owners of this new franchise location. They first fell in love with Peace, Love and Little Donuts during a family vacation and soon dreamed of bringing these treasured doughnuts to their hometown. “My kids fell in love, so much so that we had them at their high school graduation parties,” said Kathy. “And our guests just went crazy for them,” she added. That was the moment when they started looking into franchising options.

“We’ve found the perfect space for our shop,” Kathy stated, explaining that customers would get to watch each doughnut being freshly made to order right in the store. “It’s kind of like food theatre,” she added. To keep their doughnuts fresh, they’ll be made throughout the day, not just in the early morning hours, ensuring guests will have a chance to enjoy them any time during the day.

Furthermore, the shop is ready to cater to every doughnut lover, providing not only free samples but also chances to create your own custom twist, with gluten-friendly and vegan options available subject to demand. Alongside their signature doughnuts, Peace, Love and Little Donuts will also offer a variety of coffee drinks and fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Apart from a grand dream and dozens of doughnuts, Kathy and Frank also bring with them their deep-rooted love for Northville. “We raised our kids in downtown Northville, so we were there all the time and we still frequent it a lot,” shared Kathy. Therefore, they are excited not just about their business, but also about adding to the allure of downtown Northville.

Peace, Love, and Little Donuts, originally established in Pittsburgh in 2009, began franchising in 2016 and has expanded to 11 states, with Michigan shops in places like Ann Arbor, Traverse City, and Portage. The exact date of the Northville store opening is yet to be confirmed and will be determined based on the completion of interiors, permitting, and other formalities. Till then, too, keep an eye out for updates on their Facebook page: Peace Love and Little Donuts of Northville, or on their Instagram handle, @plldnorthville.
