Starring in the historic downtown of Northville, the 35th annual Victorian Festival is all set to celebrate the community’s rich heritage and vibrant spirit. This event, running from Friday, September 20th to Sunday, September 22nd, is not just a celebration of the community’s identity, but also a significant fundraising opportunity for local nonprofits and community groups. With the charming Victorian architecture of our town as its backdrop, the festival has become an esteemed tradition bringing together residents and visitors to enjoy everything Northville has to offer.
The Victorian Festival has a list of enticing events. Start off with the Victorian Parade at 6:30 PM on Friday. On Saturday, there’s a petting farm that opens at 11 AM and a Crazy Craig performance scheduled at 11:30 AM. Round off your weekend with a horse and carriage ride, opening at 11 AM on the Sunday. A full schedule of events can be found on the festival’s official webpage.
While you’re in Northville for the festival, make sure to check out some of the other amazing fall activities around town. Drop by Parmenters and Three Cedars Farm to grab some cider and doughnuts. If you’re looking for indoor fun, the Stemville play center offers a hands-on learning experience for kids of all age groups. Take a stroll through Downtown Northville to enjoy the ‘Skeletons Are Alive’ spectacle sprawling throughout October. Make some time for a family day out at Maybury State Park as well. Pay a visit to the animals, take a tractor ride to the corn maze at Maybury Farm or let the kids blow off some steam at the playground. Don’t forget to take a nature walk on the trails.
Looking for more family fun in September? There are plenty of kid-friendly festivals happening across nearby communities. The Story Festival at the Ford House in Grosse Pointe and Pumpkin Festival in Romulus are on the 14th and from 20th to 22nd respectively. Troy Daze in Troy, Festival of The Senses in Clinton Township, Michigan Fall Festival in Lake Orion, Fire & Flannel Festival in Wyandotte and Pumpkinfest in South Lyon are also worth adding to your calendar.
Come and make the most out of this fall season with family-friendly fun and celebrations. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you’ll find something to enjoy at the Northville Victorian Festival and other fall celebrations around the area.
