Violent J of Insane Clown Posse to Debut Storytelling Show at Token Lounge

In the vibrant city of Westland, Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse (ICP) is set to charm the audience with his personal tales at the Token Lounge during his new show called “Story Time with Violent J”. Having debuted this thrilling narrative ensemble in December at One Night Stans Comedy Club in Waterford, he’s all set to share a collection of memorable anecdotes from his journey in music, pro wrestling, and life.

Setting the expectations straight, Violent J, born as Joe Bruce, insists that his live show is not positioned as a comedy event. Audiences will get to listen to fresh stories that have marked significant moments and happiness in his adventurous life rather than traditional joke-rendered performances. He emphasizes that his storytelling, even though peppered with humor, will showcase an outsider’s perspective drawn from his unique experiences and celebrity meet-ups.

Joining him on the stage will be none other than the talented Ouija Macc, an artist from ICP’s label, Psychopathic Records, and the pro-wrestler-turned-podcaster Colt Cabana. While they may guide and prompt Violent J during his storytelling, the main focus remains on his personal narratives and how being a self-proclaimed “scrub” influenced his worldview.

Inspired by renowned pro wrestlers who converted their in-ring experiences into engrossing stage stories, Violent J forayed into spoken-word style performances for fans at his Oakland County home during the COVID era. This later evolved into his first live show which exceeded its initially planned duration of 45 minutes and stretched an engaging two and a half hours. Upcoming is a string of shows scheduled to take place in Columbus, Joliet, and Indianapolis as part of a four-city tour.

Meanwhile, ICP fans can look forward to the 24th annual edition of the Gathering of the Juggalos festival set to happen from Aug. 14-18 in Thornville, Ohio. The event promises a mix of music, a hot wing eating contest, a Juggalo meditation event, and more.

As if that’s not enough for his followers, the rapper is also working on launching a new weekly pro wrestling show called “JCW Lunacy” and the group’s new album – their first since 2021’s release, “Yum Yum Bedlam”.

Scheduled to be produced by Mike E. Clark, the architect of ICP’s signature sound, it will be the first Clark-produced ICP album since 2012’s “The Mighty Death Pop!”. Amidst the flurry of events, Violent J intends to take his pace with the album which he thinks will gain momentum once he feels inspired.

Story Time with Violent J begins at 7 p.m. this Wednesday at Token Lounge, 28949 Joy Rd., Westland. Make sure not to miss this eclectic blend of narratives, and get your tickets for $30!
