Westland Residents Badly Injured in Shocking Driveway Incident

A pair of Westland residents, identified as Luke and Hailey Vinsko, experienced a horrifying end to their first date night since becoming parents to twins this past Saturday. They were suddenly run over in their own driveway by a vehicle, marking a terrible twist of fate in what was otherwise a relaxed evening.

Sources confirmed that the motorist, a 43-year-old woman from Westland, purposefully rammed into several vehicles on Florence Street’s 3400 block, which resulted in major destruction. The suspect didn’t stop there – She whisked into the Vinskoes’ driveway and clashed into their cars. Unable to escape in time, Luke found himself under his own vehicle.

The 32-year-old father of twins was immediately taken to the hospital, where an emergency amputation of one leg was required due to severe injuries. In addition, his other foot was badly wounded, with several toes fractured. The suspect is now in police custody, facing several charges related to damage to several vehicles and causing grievous injury to Luke.

Alcohol and drugs are suspected to have played a role in the incident, according to local law enforcement. A GoFundMe page shares that the incident was the suspect’s attempt to hurt her ex-boyfriend, a previous resident in the Vinskoes’ house. Witnesses noted her laughing before abruptly crying when police arrived on the scene.

In the wake of the incident, friends of the Vinsko family launched a GoFundMe campaign, aiming to raise funds to cover their unforeseen expenses, including the replacements of their completely wrecked vehicles. Notably, both their cars have been transported from the scene as evidence by the Westland Police Department.

The suspect is set for arraignment come Tuesday morning. The incident is currently under thorough examination by the Westland Police Traffic Bureau and the Western Wayne Crash Response Team, with their findings to be presented to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
