Hey there folks, if you’re driving around Wixom this week, you might want to take note of this. A part of southbound Wixom Road will be off-limits for the rest of the week.
The stretch between West Maple Road and Pontiac Trail will be out of bounds starting today. And why, you ask? Well, the folks from the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office need to tend to some storm sewer maintenance there. So, looks like it’s time for Wixom Road to get a bit of a spruce-up!
Now, don’t you worry about getting around. They’ve got a detour chalked out for you. You can make your way via West Maple Road, onto Beck Road, and then to Pontiac Trail which will lead you back to southbound Wixom Road. So pop those addresses into your GPS and you’ll be good to go.
Keep in mind, this section of Wixom Road is usually a busy one, with about 18,260 vehicles using it daily. The good news? Northbound Wixom Road will stay open during the project. So, things aren’t all that bad.
So, there you have it. Brace yourselves for a bit of a detour if you’re heading that way and remember, it’s all in the name of keeping our city infrastructure in top shape.
